The BMW Z4 GTR (E86) is a popular vehicle in racing due to its driving characteristics. To improve the driving characteristics, there is now an INTRAX racing suspension, which leaves nothing to be desired.
Racing suspension
In order to improve the already very good driving characteristics of the BMW Z4 GTR, an uncompromising racing chassis was needed, equipped with all options. So it's fully adjustable INTRAX 4-way XL (52mm diameter front / 40mm diameter rear) Black Titan ARC with Stäubli quick couplings emerged.
Especially for a project vehicle A new and extremely powerful chassis was designed in 2016. The result is a chassis with maximum possible stability thanks to the 52mm thick upside-down construction. Of course, the INTRAX 4-way chassis is also equipped with ARC. One of the advantages of this chassis is that the BMW Z4 GTR drives more easily over curbs and bumps.
Each INTRAX chassis is manufactured individually
INTRAX racing suspensions are not off-the-shelf products. To produce the best possible chassis, the following information is necessary:
- Where will the vehicle be used (road, track day, long distance, rally, etc. or combinations if necessary)
- Which tires (manufacturer and dimensions) are used
- Which rim dimensions are used?
- Other changes that affect vehicle control (lightweight construction, engine performance, vehicle weight, cell, etc.)
INTRAX 4-way chassis
The 4-way suspension is the top product from INTRAX Racing. Each damper can be adjusted separately and independently of each other in all parameters. This allows very precise fine-tuning to be set. The damper system is equipped with a thermostat to avoid operating temperatures that are too high, even under sustained heavy loads.
At the front, the XL shock absorbers are equipped with a 62mm damper housing and a 52mm piston rod, which gives the chassis incredible stability. INTRAX XL chassis are always with the option Black titan provided.
At the rear, the chassis is equipped with a lightweight shock absorber with 40mm shock absorber pistons. The rear shock absorbers are also equipped with a thermostat.
Our special chassis is equipped with dome bearings, which are manufactured to fit the domes of the GTR body. The cathedral bearings are made from the best aviation materials (material “7075”).
Black titan
The “Black Titan” coating on the piston rods reduces the frictional heat that occurs under heavy use. This extends the lifespan of the chassis and tires. The Black Titan option is a must for any INTRAX chassis on our team vehicles.
ARC (Anti Roll Control)
After years of development, INTRAX has found a way to drastically reduce unwanted rolling movements. With the “ARC” option, the vehicle has the comfort and all other advantages of driving with “soft” springs. As soon as you go into a curve, have to brake hard or drive over a bump in the road, the ARC comes into play. Now the chassis behaves sportily and copes with these stresses without time-consuming rolling movements.
