The Porsche 911 The 911 is usually associated with winding country roads, the sound of an air-cooled engine, and sporty driving dynamics on asphalt. But there is a significantly rarer and more uncompromising interpretation of the classic 911: the so-called "Safari Porsche." Inspired by the brand's legendary rally and off-road endeavors – from the East African Safari Rally of the 1970s to the Paris-Dakar Rally cars of the 1980s – a Safari 911 combines classic Porsche DNA with genuine adventure capability. A raised suspension, off-road tires, a reinforced underbody, and functional motorsport details transform the 911 into a vehicle that goes far beyond ordinary road cars.
The Porsche 964 Safari offered here is an exceptionally high-quality, one-of-a-kind vehicle, consistently developed and built in Norway since 2019. It is based on a Porsche 964 Carrera 4 From the 1989 model year, this car has been visually converted to the rare 911 SCRS Rallye look. All bodywork, including the widebody kit, was expertly executed in steel using genuine Porsche parts – not simple fiberglass add-ons, but a high-quality, durable build designed to withstand the rigors of a safari. The Porsche 964 Safari underwent extensive testing and continuous refinement in both the Norwegian mountains and the Alps. The result is not just a show car, but a fully functional and meticulously engineered 911 Safari, possessing true long-distance and adventure capabilities.

Technically, the car was consistently designed for drivability and robustness. The revised 3,8-liter engine was specifically tuned for high torque and good drivability and harmonizes perfectly with the rare, specially built RUF 6-speed gearbox with locking differentials. This was specially designed for this Porsche 964 Safari The developed chassis with its adapted wheel suspension ensures high stability and surprisingly precise handling – both on poor roads and off-road. Over the years, the vehicle has been continuously optimized: underbody protection, chassis tuning, roof rack system, and lighting system have been further developed multiple times and adapted to real-world applications.
The numerous special features include: 16-inch Fuchs-style wheels with all-terrain tires, electric front winch (invisible behind the license plate), original Porsche trailer hitch system, PCCM+ navigation system including Apple CarPlay, Webasto petrol auxiliary heater, custom-made roof rack with spare wheel, Recaro leather seats, Stilo intercom system, half cage, Cargraphic sport exhaust system with valve control, RS door panels, custom-made auxiliary light pod on the front hood, etc.
It is particularly noteworthy that all modifications have been approved and registered in the Norwegian vehicle documents. Furthermore, the vehicle has gained recognition through various international magazines and media reports, and the safari conversion has been featured in, among other things, “911 & Porsche World" as "Classic Porsche" presented.
This Porsche 964 Safari is not an ordinary conversion, but an exceptionally well-thought-out and professionally developed adventure vehicle with real personality, high everyday usability and an enormous attention factor – ready for long journeys, alpine mountain passes and roads that normal sports cars would never reach.
