Complete rebuild with low mileage
The reconstruction of this BMW M3 E30 Group A (As of 1988/1989) was meticulously restored in our workshop in 2021. The body was completely stripped, cathodic dip coating (KTL), and then finished with a high-quality paint job – a foundation rarely found in new builds. The engine is a faithfully reconstructed 2.3-liter Group A engine producing 208,882 kW (284 hp), which has only covered approximately 500 km in the Touring Car Legends series during the 2024 season. Together with the Getrag/Samsonas gearbox, a 4.45:1 limited-slip differential, and the MBE motorsport control unit, this car offers uncompromising performance in the style of the legendary DTM era.
The suspension, as always, comes from Intrax (4-way ARC), featuring Group A aluminum struts at the front, complemented by center-lock hubs, a professional balance bar brake system, and AP Racing Pro 5000 Radical brakes (6-piston 350 mm at the front, 4-piston 330 mm at the rear). The interior is stripped down, typical of Group A cars, with a roll cage, carbon fiber components, and modern electrical components. The M3 is also superbly equipped technically: electric power steering, an FIA-compliant 60-liter fuel tank, and a quick-lift system are fitted.
The car features original Group A sheet metal body parts, shows only documented minor contact on the left front fender, and is otherwise in excellent condition. Overall, this Young-Charly M3 presents itself as an extremely cleanly built, ready-to-race track tool – ideal for historic touring car series, track days, or as a collector's item for DTM enthusiasts.
