On the weekend from April 29.04th to May 01.05st. The Special Touring Car Trophy (STT) was part of the supporting program ADAC GT Masters on the Sachsenring. As usual, free practice took place on Friday morning, which satisfied newcomer Sven Markert with a 3rd place. In the afternoon things got serious: the first qualifying started and with a second place in the division, he was able to start the race from the front row of the grid.

A day later, the 2nd qualifying took place early in the morning and the result was 3rd place. A few hours later it was all about everything: the first race at the Sachsenring began. Due to the good starting position of Sven Markert The race was promising and the focus was on the podium! On the first lap, the division leader landed in the gravel trap and the young racer took the lead. He was able to defend or even expand his lead for a long time and even managed to set the fastest lap time in Division 2. Towards the halfway point of the race, the second guy caught up and an exciting duel ensued. Sven Markert was able to stay in the lead for many laps, but as the tires deteriorated it became more and more difficult. At the end of the start/finish straight, the pursuer braked on the inside and took the lead. The young Berliner then gave chase and both drove completely at the limit, sometimes even a little over it. It was an extremely tough and fair duel until the last corner and Sven Markert was rewarded with 2nd place. But it was a great result not only for the driver, but also for the entire team, as Markert's teammate ended up in third place after having to start from the back.

The weekend came to an end on Sunday and the STT headed off to the second race at 2:14 p.m. 50rd place on the grid was the order of the day and after the successful race the day before, expectations were correspondingly high. After a less than ideal start, Markert initially had to move a little further back in the field - but he was still able to maintain his position. The leader raced away, but the second-placed driver caught up with a vehicle that had to be overtaken at the start of the race and had to go to the pit lane because of a puncture. I took over his position, but even on Sunday it became increasingly difficult to maintain the ideal line as the tires deteriorated. Nevertheless, the Berliner was able to cross the finish line in second place.

Thus achieved Sven Markert two 2nd places in the races, which made the team and I extremely satisfied. It can carry on like this!
